SBMT Board Members, staff, and spouses celebrated the end of another successful season last Saturday at the historic Warner Hutton House, which is connected to the city property that includes the Saratoga Theater. Kathy Switky was presented with the SBMT Ovation Award in recognition of her huge volunteer contributions on the Development Committee. Congratulations and thanks to all whose support has fueled our continued growth. Here's looking ahead to a noteworthy Season 64!

We hope all the Fathers in our audience had a wonderful day. Pictured above are father figures from past SBMT shows: The Sound of Music (2025), Brigadoon (2025), Ragtime (2008), and Mary Poppins (2024).

We have not yet started building our own productions of the shows we have licensed for 2026-2027, but you can get a feel for the stories and songs by sampling these quick snippets culled from former productions by other theatre groups. (Watch for SBMT's own trailers coming once each show opens.) For subscription information, please visit SouthBayMT.com/shows/2026-27 or call 408-266-4734.

When I’m chatting with you in the lobby before a show, during intermission having a snack, or immediately afterwards when you’re still aglow from experiencing an outstanding performance, these are some of the questions you’ve asked recently regarding donations: “What do you need?” “How much should I be giving?” “How much do people normally give?” “What is the best way to help?” “What is the right amount?” (continue reading on our blog)... Our closing matinee audience for "In The Heights" was on its feet today as Alexander Reyes (Usnavi) took his final bow alongside the rest of the cast, with enthusiastic shout-outs to the orchestra and crew. These are the "Heights" to which we all aspire as purveyors of Noteworthy Entertainment. Thank you SO MUCH to all who joined us for this special experience. Photos by Doug Hughes.

Did you know? Here are five fun facts about the success found by "In The Heights" all around the globe.
1️⃣ A Cast Album Favorite
The original Broadway recording introduced audiences worldwide to the show long before many saw it live.
2️⃣ Big-Screen Spectacle
Director Jon M. Chu brought cinematic scale to the 2021 film adaptation with massive dance sequences shot on location.
3️⃣ Broadway Legacy
In The Heights helped launch a new era of storytellers who blended contemporary music with classic musical-theatre structure.
4️⃣ A Star-Making Show
Many performers from early productions have gone on to major careers on Broadway, film, and television.
5️⃣ Celebrating Community
More than anything, the musical reminds audiences that everyday people — in everyday neighborhoods — can inspire extraordinary stories.

The show runs has its final two performances tonight and tomorrow afternoon, June 5 and 6, at the Saratoga Civic Theater, 13777 Fruitvale Ave, Saratoga, CA. TIckets at SouthBayMT.com or 408-266-4734.
