Established in 1957, The Summit League is a non-profit organization consisting of 50 Active Members and over 60 Sustaining Members who are committed to raising funds in the areas of education, health, welfare and the arts in Silicon Valley.

With mid-January here, we are throwing it back to December when Summit Leaguers spent time serving the community through the Secret Santa project with , an amazing non-profit offering comprehensive childcare services, family support and resources. The League served 30 kids through our members and sustainers also adopted kids. Thank you, Go Kids, for the good work that you do (check them out at gokids.org).

Summit League kicked off the year with a bang with our monthly meeting last week, led by President . With a focus on connections this year, the League conversations centered around building bridges within SL and beyond, strengthening relationships with each other and impacting our community through volunteerism. Featured speaker, life coach and author encouraged members to welcome new possibilities and personal growth as she shared coaching stories.

Here's to a great year ahead filled with shared purpose and fun! Thank you to all our members for stepping up to new roles, embracing learning and stretching skill sets!

Making a Difference: Summit League donates $310,000 to for two new, temperature-controlled trucks to transport food to clients. Did you know? Summit League’s 2025 Day in the Garden with Friends fundraiser’s primary recipient is Loaves & Fishes Family Kitchen. This amazing organization helps address the growing food insecurity in our community. Join us in raising much needed funds for a meal distribution truck (see summit-league.org for details.) According to SL president Liz Ferrari, “This year’s Summit League Spring Event is truly groundbreaking for Loaves & Fishes Family Kitchen and Santa Clara County. Proceeds from the event will help fund meal distribution to address hunger and provide critical support during emergencies, floods, or earthquakes, ensuring that no one goes without nourishment during times of crisis. Summit League is honored to support Loaves & Fishes in its work to deliver food directly to families, children, and seniors who need it most.”

We can’t wait for the sold out ‘A Day in the Garden with Friends this coming Wednesday! Recently some of our members painted a stunning painting ‘Cheesecake by Summit League painters (after Wayne Thiebaud’). The highest bidder gets to bring home this fun and colorful painting, sure to bring joy to any space. There are lots of ‘shopportunities” in the curated Marketplace on May 28th! Summit League will host its biennial fundraiser, A Day in the Garden with Friends, in conversation with celebrity chef and entrepreneur, Tyler Florence, to benefit Loaves & Fishes Family Kitchen, Wednesday, May 28th, at Montalvo Arts Center. This event is sold out. Proceeds from this event will contribute to enhancing Loaves & Fishes fleet of essential meal distribution trucks designed to deliver food directly to families, seniors and to those that require special medically prescribed meals. In addition, these trucks are equipped to collect excess commercially catered food to help eliminate food waste and provide critical sustenance support in case of disaster emergencies.

Monies raised will also benefit Summit League’s Community Giving Fund, meeting both urgent and unexpected needs and investing in smaller-scale nonprofit programs, projects and capital improvements throughout the Santa Clara County community. Thus far, in 2025 alone, Summit League has funded requests to the Humane Society, Boys & Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley, Cristo Rey San José Jesuit High School, NUMU and the Salvation Army.

For more than 60 years, Summit League has supported over 90 arts, education, health and welfare non-profit organizations serving Santa Clara County with more than $2 million in financial support and countless volunteer hours.

Summit Leaguers volunteering at Loaves and Fishes made for a memorable day!

Thank you to the entire team at Loaves & Fishes Family Kitchen, including CEO David Hott, Chef Reyna Granados and so many wonderful folks. We are excited to shine a spotlight on the amazing work of this local non-profit to ensure seniors, families and children receive nutritious and delicious meals…no questions asked! This year's 'Day in the Garden with Friends' will support the good work of Loaves & Fishes, in combating the plight of food insecurity in our local community.

Summit League’s history of supporting the Santa Clara County non-profit community with our hands, hearts and financial support continues this year with proceeds from this year's event going towards the new Loaves & Fishes state of the art meal distribution truck, designed to address hunger and provide critical support during emergencies.
