The Pony Express

The Pony Express We provide a safe space for kids to get outside in nature and in hand with horses that nurture our soul.

The Pony Express provides pony rides and riding lessons at Howarth Park, located in Santa Rosa. The Pony Express Equine Assisted Skills for Youth also offers an equine/educational learning environment for youth ages 12-18 years of age. The EASY Program is a lifeskill/leadership program that utilizes horses as both guide and teacher. Interns engage in equine/educational exercises designed to instill trust, respect, communication and teamwork.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the recent passing of our beloved pony Jack. A little Haflinger known for his big hair, and even bigger heart, Jack spent many years at the Howarth Park pony corral sharing his special gift of giving kids their very first pony ride. Thank you Jack for being a cornerstone in our program and a best friend to all. You will be deeply missed, but your legacy lives on in every child who learned to love horses because of you. Our herd won’t be the same without you but I take comfort in knowing that you and Frankie are back together again. Forever in our hearts. 😢💔
