REMINDER - CALL FOR ENTRIES THIS SUNDAY:

This Sunday, June 28th, 11am-3pm, the Santa Rosa Arts Center will accept submissions for our next small works exhibit, RED, WHITE & BLUE.

Do the colors red, white, and blue remind you of the founding of our country 250 years ago, patriotism, and the American flag? Or do they remind you of red kites, blue skies, or white flowers?

We invite artists to submit up to two entries in any medium predominantly featuring the colors red, white, and/or blue. Artwork is limited to 12" in any direction, including frames, and 2D pieces must be properly wired for hanging (no sawtooth hangers).
This show begins on July 2nd and will continue through August 29th. The First Friday Opening Reception is on July 3rd from 5-8pm.

We're winding up the month of June this week at the SANTA ROSA ARTS CENTER!

On Thursday evening, join us for our monthly figure drawing class with a live model ($20 for members, $25 for non-members). Saturday will be the last day to see the SERENITY exhibit and, on Sunday, artists will submit artwork for our new small works exhibit RED, WHITE & BLUE.

ARTISTS IN THE ROUND gathers at the SANTA ROSA ARTS CENTER every third Wednesday -- that's tomorrow, June 17th -- from 6 to 7:30pm.

What is ARTISTS IN THE ROUND?
• A venue for all artists to share their artwork
• A place of connection where artists feel welcomed
• A place to trade ideas and recognize art potential
• A place to celebrate the quirky and playful art culture of Sonoma County
• A creative avenue to explore new ideas

Artists in the Round gathers on Wednesday evening, June 17, from 6 to 7:30pm. It's a place to share your current projects with others and receive encouragement, suggestions, commiseration, or inspiration. FREE! Donations appreciated.

Thursday through Sunday, from 11am to 3pm, stop by to view and purchase from our two gallery exhibits, OUT TO SEA and SERENITY, as well as our gift shop.

"Aurelia", a Danny Gutierrez's painting is a 16"x20" acrylic/mixed media painting on canvas.

Aurelia is a Latin-origin name meaning "golden" derived from aureus and the Roman family name Aurelius. It signifies brightness and beauty, notably associated with Aurelia Cotta, mother of Julius Caesar.

Danny Gutierrez passed away on March 27, 2020, after a battle with esophageal cancer. His sister, Robin Allison, pictured here, is an active volunteer with us, She has generously donated this painting, "Aurelia," as a benefit for the Santa Rosa Arts Center.

In addition, Robin Allison's watercolor seen directly above her brother's painting in the photo, is included in the OUT TO SEA exhibition at Santa Rosa Arts Center. She will be a participating artist in the SANTA ROSA OPEN STUDIOS.

Congratulations to the raffle winner Ralph Broussard and many thanks to all who
participated in the raffle to benefit the Santa Rosa Arts Center!

SPEAKEASY THURSDAY EVENING FROM 6-8pm!

Join us tomorrow evening (Thursday, June 11th) from 6-8pm for Speakeasy - our monthly gathering to share music and spoken word. It's FREE, but donations are appreciated.

This month's Speakeasy will feature poetry by Shawna L. Swetech and music by Steve Shain. Open mic follows the two sets, then there will be time to mingle for conversation and connection.
