Spend your summer evenings creating, connecting, and taking home handmade pieces you’ll treasure for years to come 🙌

Join local artist and CAA Pottery Studio Lead Instructor Jessica Batson for a four-session beginner wheel-throwing workshop designed for those new to the pottery wheel.

Learn the fundamentals of creating mugs and bowls, explore surface decoration, and finish your pieces with glaze before they head to the kiln.

Plus, registration includes two complimentary open studio sessions for extra time to practice and create!

Meet CAA Member Nicole Nicole Hemmerly 👋

Nicole was living a successful but unsatisfying life as a Licensed Athletic Trainer when she met James - a military man and her perfect match. Although she didn’t know it at the time, their meeting became the catalyst for the Mosshound Designs. James encouraged her to explore her creativity and introduced her to his family sheep farm and a new, more aligned path unfolded before her.

She dove in, not knowing where she was going until the art that flowed through her fingers without thought or effort revealed itself. The fibers’ textures and colors flowed one into the next until she stepped back from the loom to see the timeless, distinctive piece that was formed.

Since starting as a mere experiment while looking for something more, Mosshound Designs has grown to include one-of-a-kind commissioned pieces for hotels, event venues, and home-owners across the globe. She gathers her inspiration from the space itself and the stories of its people to create timeless, extraordinary fiber art pieces that are both a focal point and a living story while seamlessly integrating into the space.

📣 Calling All Artists 📣 New America 250 Exhibition at Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport

The Cultural Arts Alliance, in partnership with Bay Arts Alliance and Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (ECP), is calling artists to submit artwork for a special exhibition celebrating America’s 250th Birthday and Florida’s unique role in our nation’s history, culture, and future. 🎨✨🇺🇸

Inspired by the Florida Department of Transportation’s America 250 Florida campaign, this exhibition will showcase original artwork reflecting the spirit of the State of Florida and commemorating the Semiquincentennial of the United States. 🐊🐠🌴

Selected works will be displayed at Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (ECP) during one of the busiest travel seasons of the year, providing exceptional exposure for participating artists.

Join local fiber artist Sydni Gause for an introduction to the art of Eco-Printing! Using locally grown and foraged botanicals and foliage, participants will create dynamic patterns on a 5” x 72” silk sash that can be worn as a belt, tied around a hat, or displayed as two-dimensional art. 🎨🍃

Meet CAA Member Artist Mindy Moore 👋

As an abstract acrylic artist, Mindy Moore is known for her captivating exploration of mental landscapes. Through her paintings, she transforms thoughts into visual expressions, inviting viewers to consider what a thought might look like if it had a physical form. Each piece serves as a window into the complexity of the mind, blending color, texture, and shape in dynamic ways to capture the ephemeral nature of ideas, thoughts, and emotions. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Fine Art from Middle Tennessee State University, Mindy Moore made the move to Santa Rosa Beach, Florida where she’s lived for the past 20 years. She’s been actively involved with the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County since 2020. Moore’s work has been exhibited at the Foster Gallery, Emerald Coast Theater Company, and J Leon Gallery. She has participated in ArtsQuest by teaching classes and exhibiting work in the CAA Members’ Tent. Moore’s notable awards include "People's Choice" at the Foster Gallery in 2020 and a “Best of Show” ribbon in the members’ tent at ArtsQuest 2023. Moore’s creative process is intuitive and free-flowing, reflecting her belief in the healing power of self-expression. By immersing herself in her work, she discovers new dimensions of her own thoughts and feelings.
