In a sad turn of events, our friends at the South Walton Communist Council tried to sneak through a text amendment to the LDC last night that would have greatly diminished the property rights of hundreds of property owners and shifted ahuge tax burden to North Walton residents.

During a recent planning meeting, Chat Holly residents, led by Margaret Landry, put forth a proposal for a moratorium on map amendment changes in their area until transportation infrastructure issues are addressed. While their initiative appears commendable on the surface, closer examination reveals...

Just have to pay attention to these local candidate, for example, California Dan Curry is pushing hard to put California like policies in place. Tell Dan to stop trying to California our Walton County. We can't afford his California ways and we don't want his California rules. If we did we would have already done it ourselves. We are the GOB.

THE WCTA VISION FOR A STRONGER WALTON COUNTY

The Walton County Taxpayers Association (WCTA) has a vision for Walton County as a vibrant, safe place for citizens to live, work, raise families, start businesses, and retire.
The WCTA believes that lower taxes, an efficient county government, elected officials and government agencies that operate with transparency, and an excellent education system are all fundamental to the growth and success of Walton County.
As an advocate for taxpayers and for effective government, WCTA focuses its efforts on achieving the following four goals:

1. A county government that is vigilant about protecting tax dollars – a government that understands and respects the fact that tax dollars are the people’s money, generated through hard work and sacrifice.

2. A county government that operates effectively and efficiently, at all times, with the best interests of citizens at heart.

3. A county government that operates in the Sunshine, with genuine transparency, so that citizens can trust that decisions are made with integrity.

4. A county that values the importance of a high quality, excellent, and affordable education system designed to improve the lives of all of Walton County’s children.

Yes, I have made lasting friendships with some county employees, elected and appointed officials. I have worked with them for many years on issues that concern both you and me, as I have served on boards and committees. I do not feel those relationships should have any bearing on decisions I will make as commissioner. One supporter said recently, "when Debbie is passionate about an issue, she puts her heart and soul into it. She cannot be swayed". That supporter has watched me over the years and knows what I stand for. The well being of Walton County and all of our neighbors.

----------------------------------------------------------------
Dr. Carolynn Zonia, District 5 Candidate (Democrat)
No, I do not have any family or close friends with financial relationships with the County.
