Join us on Saturday, September 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Fred Gannon Rocky Bayou State Park for a day filled with outdoor fun, environmental education, and plenty of ways to connect with the Choctawhatchee Bay. 🌿💙

Bring the family, invite a friend, and come enjoy guided kayak tours, hands-on activities, fish printing, local organizations, food vendors, and more! Admission to the event is free with the $5 per vehicle park entrance fee.

We’re hiring! 🌿

The Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance Estuary Program is looking for a Watershed Partnerships Coordinator to help bring people, ideas, and resources together to make a difference across the Choctawhatchee watershed.

This is a great opportunity for someone who loves building relationships, bringing partners together, coordinating projects, and turning good ideas into action. The position will work with local governments, agencies, nonprofits, schools, businesses, and community partners to advance shared watershed goals.

If you’re an organized, collaborative problem-solver with a passion for the environment and strong communication and relationship-building skills, we’d love to hear from you. A degree in environmental science, natural resources, planning, public administration, communications, or a related field is required. Experience with Northwest Florida ecosystems and networks preferred.

📍 Location: South Walton Campus

🎓 Northwest Florida State College

Students from Emerald & Forgotten Coast Adventures' Marine Science Summer Camp got hands-on experience restoring one of our most important coastal habitats through a community service project with CBA. 🌾

Working together at Inlet Beach, campers planted a variety of native dune species, including sea oats, panicgrass, sea purslane, railroad vine, and beach elder. Along the way, they learned about the role healthy dune ecosystems play in protecting our coastline and why native plants are essential to their long-term success.
