📣Many graduate and professional students depend on federal financial aid to pursue degrees in health care, education, engineering and other fields that serve our communities. Recent changes to federal student aid policy may limit loan access for many of them. Congress is now considering legislation that could help restore these opportunities and protect access to federal loans. Nominate a UCSB Staff Member for the 2025-26 Staff Citation of Excellence Awards Program! The purpose of this program is to acknowledge and celebrate outstanding achievements and meritorious service of staff. Ten awards will be made; each recipient will receive $500 and a plaque. Presentation of awards will be made during the Service Milestone Event in May. Guidelines and the nomination form can be found on the Staff Assembly website http://www.staffassembly.ucsb.edu/staff-awards. Nominations due Friday, March 6 by 4 p.m.

On January 13, CUCSA hosted an All-Staff Town Hall that gave UC staff the opportunity to hear directly from the Systemwide State and Federal Government Relations Offices. Presenters shared updates on the state budget and key legislation, provided an overview of the UC Advocacy Network (UCAN) and how staff can engage in advocacy efforts on behalf of UC, and were joined by remarks from the Press Secretary in the Office of California State Senator Jesse Arreguín.

Stop by from 11am–1pm at Cheadle/Campbell Hall Plaza to enjoy refreshments and shop staff-made crafts.
📢 Remember: you can support the AS FoodBank by bringing a non-perishable item or making an online monetary donation using the QR code available at the event. Your donation will enter you into the opportunity drawing.

Join Staff Assembly and CSAC at the 15th Annual Winter Warmer Arts & Crafts Bazaar event on Friday, December 12, 11am to 1pm, Cheadle/Campbell Hall Plaza. Enjoy light refreshments while supporting staff artisans who will be selling their handmade arts and crafts in time for the festive holiday season. Bring a donation for the AS FoodBank and be entered into a drawing to win a prize donated by the staff artisans. We hope you'll join us!

The Veterans Staff Association, Human Resources, and the Veterans Resource Center hosted a wonderful luncheon today recognizing those who have served. Chair and UCSB Staff Assembly member Greta Carl-Halle attended the event, where she connected with Chancellor Assanis and his wife, Eleni, in celebrating our veteran community.
