SCT provides communication and community connectivity by producing and broadcasting programs that focus on local people, issues, events and services. We broadcast on our government channel and designated government live stream, meetings of the Sandwich Board of Selectmen and the Finance Committee. The Sandwich School Committee meetings are broadcast on channel 14 and live streamed on the public st
ream. Regulatory boards are broadcast on channel 15 when held at one of our broadcasting sites. All are live streamed on our government stream, rebroadcast and archived on our website. The meetings are recorded gavel to gavel and are always rebroadcast in their entirety. You may also watch all televised government meetings and local programs on demand on this website by clicking on the watch tab. We archive past programs (2010-2021) and government meetings on our channel at www.archive.org. All our local programming is there dating back to March 2010. We also live stream televised government meetings during the week on the player found under the watch tab. Each year we broadcast the Annual Town Meeting and any Special Town Meeting(s) and they are also live streamed on our website, live on local channel 15 and then archived on our website. Individuals and community groups may also express their thoughts, perspectives, and ideas by producing their own television shows. We also cable-cast curated shows. These are programs produced at other cable access facilities, requested by residents and selected by our staff. We share our local programs with access centers throughout the Cape and beyond on a sharing server, MassAccess TelVue Connect. We have two live streams on our website, one for all our produced programs and educational programs and the other, government meetings 24/7. Our free workshops educate local residents and students in studio and field production and editing. Workshop graduates can go on to develop their own local television programs, or volunteer on other producer’s shows. Equipment includes a four-camera Blackmagic studio, video camcorders for remote shoots, non-linear video editing suites equipped with Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere. We have an array of video and audio equipment as well as music production software. You may also call anytime and schedule an individual lesson that fits your schedule. All equipment is purchased through a contract we hold with the town of Sandwich and we receive quarterly funds as they receive franchise fees from Comcast Corp. The town signed a new 10 year contract with Comcast this past Fall 2021
SCT is an independent, non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, with funding provided by the town of Sandwich through franchise fees through Comcast, the town’s cable provider.
