It’s September! Where did the summer go? We are now in the antiquing season for macrophyllas. Here are your tasks for this month.

Mal and Mary Kay Condon’s gorgeous property. The Mac’s are still going strong and the paniculata hydrangeas are coming into their beauty!

Now is the time to stop pruning your macrophylla (mophead) and lace cap hydrangeas. Buds start developing in mid August for next summer. If you prune anytime from now till next July, you will be cutting off the flower buds. If you have a reblooming hydrangea, you may also be cutting off the buds still to open this year.

The Cape Cod Hydrangea Festival is over, but what a great one it was! We had so many visitors to our gardens from near and far!
