UPDATE : Amazon Charity Program
The program that gave a percentage (very small) to your favorite charity ended in February 2023. All of us non-profits who YOU had selected (thank you for choosing us) expected to receive a check from Amazon as we were told. We received an email today from Amazon stating that due to an inability to complete the transaction with our bank (unknown reason) the unknown amount that YOU all graciously ear-marked for Phoenix for Children Inc. has been put back in the collective donation account and distributed to other causes Amazon feels is easier for them. In other words, Amazon ran into some sort of inconvenience in sending us some money, likely not a lot to them. Instead of contacting us, you could imagine all the information they took from me to establish this account, not to mention we could be found using a simple search. BTW, they were good enough to tell me in an email we will not receive the money, yet they couldn’t bother to reach out to ask me to contact them to correct a possible problem they experienced. Over the course of the program, I was required to update them several times. I’m personally not impressed with Amazon customer service not only because of this sad situation (a little money is a lot of money to us) with several other customer service situations I‘ve had.
It appears to me customer service really isn’t important to Amazon, just replace the part or product no questions is an easier solution. However, anything requiring an actual resolution apparently isn’t worth the effort. I’m not going to get political or even tell a tale “when I was young”. However, it appears to me this sort of collective acceptance for the lack of standing behind products or services is something I’m seeing more often, accelerating on a big “J” curve. From corporations like Amazon to the local restaurants. We just seem to be getting much less than we bargained for and when a concern comes up there’s no one to talk to or it offends someone. In the Case here I see it amounts to, you get what you paid for! Since it was free for us, we got nothing! I just wanted to let you all know we try to be transparent with YOUR donations, specifically that we received absolutely nothing from Amazon, and to Thank you all for trying to help us through that apparently lack luster program.🫤
