OHgo

OHgo OHgo is a mobile nonprofit that travels by truck and bus into neighborhoods to deliver goods and services in an effort to reach the underserved population.

Oh-go's converted food trucks and bus deliver goods to families at their home and provide positive social and learning experiences within their own neighborhoods and schools. Some events include a traveling food pantry and fresh market, school pantries, bookmobile and kid pantry/play in the park, holiday deliveries and events such as a traveling pumpkin patch, senior food box deliveries, and more.

We also have a wide spread of volunteer opportunities including behind-the-scenes packing and front line distributing, field trip opportunities, and fundraising events. It started with a few of us carrying pizzas into parks, to get to know our neighbors, and form friendships. Now OHgo feeds thousands each month.

There was no perfect 10 year plan. No “right” way. Just a simple belief that people matter and that showing up consistently could change something.

Week after week, the conversations grew deeper, and so did the stories of struggle. What started as connection quickly became a mission.

One truck load of food led to bus loads of distributions across Sandusky parks. Now each year we are able to hold 57 mobile food pantry events and 163 fresh markets, stock 42 school pantries, deliver 8,000 emergency and senior food boxes, distribute 3,000 books through our bookmobile events, and 3,000 holiday gifts during Project Happy.

But the heart of OHgo has never changed.

It was never just about food. It was always about people. People will always matter most. And for that reason we keep showing up.

First, let us wish you all a very happy Mother’s Day!!

We’re a week in to our expansion! And haven’t been able to use the front of our building for enough time now to realize- loading and unloading thousands of pounds of food every week, by hand, through one side man door is going to either make us stronger or…. 🥴😳 cry a little. 😆

It will all be worth it! Because in about a month, the extra space will allow us to store more food, provide a safe place for our wonderful volunteers, and help us serve you better! We’ll be able to offer more food and nutrition classes, gardening workshops, demos, and partner with more local resources. Thank you, OHgo family, for walking with us on this journey! We care about you so much! ❤️
