Recent numbers indicate that as many as 240,000 innocent Afghans have been displaced from their homes due to an increase in armed-conflict in many regions of the
country. Majority of these displaced individuals are families and widows with very young children, most of whom lack basic necessities such as shelter, food, and water. Panah’s goal is to provide these displaced individuals with the basic necessities they need to survive. Since its establishment, Panah Charity Foundation has worked hard to collect donations in order to provide tents and food to these displaced individuals. The following is a list of aid provided thus far:
• Panah provided tents to 65 displaced and homeless families in Qhamber area of Kabul, Afghanistan in June 2010.
• Panah provided basic food supplies to 85 displaced and needy families inside Kabul, Afghanistan in June 2010.
• Panah provided basic food supplies to 262 displaced and needy families inside Kabul, Afghanistan in September 2010. This distribution included homeless families living under the tents and widows living with young children below poverty level. Panah’s next humanitarian mission is to distribute food to 500 displaced familiesliving under tents in Kabul, Afghanistan.
