We’re honored to share that Therapeutic Childcare received a $60,000 Ready to Learn grant from the San Diego Foundation and Dr. Seuss Foundation to support our LEAP program, helping families with children ages 0–8 build strong early literacy skills together. 📚✨

Through family-centered learning, read-aloud activities, and literacy resources for parents and children, this program helps create brighter futures one story at a time. Thank you to San Diego Foundation and Dr. Seuss Foundation for investing in early learning and our community. 💛

Statement from Father Joe's Villages on the Attack at the Islamic Center of San Diego:

There are moments when grief exceeds language. Monday’s hate-fueled attack at the Islamic Center of San Diego is one of them. Three lives were taken. We grieve with the families affected by this tragedy and with the entire Muslim community of San Diego.

At Father Joe's Villages, we believe every person is made in the image of God and deserves to be treated as such. An attack on a house of worship is an attack on that belief and on all of us.

Grief is not enough. We must be willing to name what creates the conditions for this kind of violence and commit to changing it. Hate has no place in our community. We must work to build a healthy community that values diversity and understanding in a spirit of unity.

A day in the life at Father Joe’s Villages looks a little different every day 💛

This time, we followed Johanne Trujillo, Assistant Manager of Warehouse Purchasing, through a busy but typical day behind the scenes. From sorting and organizing orders for departments across the Villages, to loading up trucks for our Spring Special Meal, to preparing for the weekly Food Pantry, Johanne and the warehouse team help keep so many moving pieces of our mission running smoothly.

Their work may happen mostly behind the scenes, but the impact reaches thousands of neighbors in our community every single week. Thank you to Johanne and the entire warehouse team for the care, teamwork, and heart they bring to every task big and small. 📦✨

Yesterday, we celebrated the amazing women of the Ladies Guild during their Annual Installation Mass and Ceremony 💞✨

We honored outgoing board members, welcomed new leadership and members, and celebrated each new inductee as they received a red ribbon and cross. Following the ceremony, the Ladies Guild presented Deacon Jim with a generous check from their yearlong fundraising efforts supporting children in our programs and their families. 👏

We are so grateful for the compassion, dedication, and joy the Ladies Guild brings to our mission year after year. 💐
