Shoreline Community Services’ community village is creating safer, dignified spaces for people transitioning out of homelessness. These small, rapidly deployable units offer immediate refuge while connecting residents to services and long-term housing pathways.

Three positives of this approach:
• Speed: Pallet shelters can be assembled quickly, allowing cities to respond faster to urgent shelter needs.
• Cost efficiency: They are typically less expensive than traditional construction, stretching limited public funding further.
• Dignity and safety: Individual units provide privacy, stability, and security compared to congregate shelters, improving outcomes for residents
