For years, Casa de Luz has been a safe haven for thousands of LGBTQ+ refugees fleeing persecution from countries around the world where they simply could not live safely as themselves.

We provide more than just a bed. We provide housing, nutritious meals, mental health counseling, legal assistance through the asylum process, and hope when it is needed most.

Today, Casa de Luz is facing one of the greatest challenges in our history. Without immediate support, our ability to continue serving this vulnerable community is at risk.

« En Casa de Luz hoy vivimos un acto de presencia, de dignidad y de amor, porque la Visibilidad Trans no es solo ser vistas. Es ser reconocidas, respetadas y protegidas en todos los espacios. Somos y aspiramos justamente a ser ese lugar donde la visibilidad no duele, donde no implica riesgo sino cuidado, abrazo y pertenencia. Ese espacio donde las personas trans pueden ser ellas mismas sin miedo, sin prejuicios y sin ser cuestionadas.

En un mundo donde muchas veces la visibilidad expone y vulnera, aquí se transforma en fuerza, en comunidad y en hogar, aquí se demuestra que existir también es resistir, y que ser visibles es un acto de valentía que merece ser acompañado.
