United Way of San Diego County is looking for volunteers to help with our Dream with STEAM shopping event taking place on Saturday, June 13, from 9:00–11:00 AM at Kohl’s in Poway (12880 Gregg Court, Poway, CA 92064).

This event supports our 60 Dream with STEAM students from Lincoln and Escondido High Schools by providing them with professional attire to help prepare them for internships, job interviews, and future career opportunities. It also helps build confidence and a sense of belonging as they work toward their goals.

Riders who utilize trained service animals are invited to join MTS for this educational event to learn more about navigating the MTS System with a service animal. Attendees and their animals will be provided time onboard an MTS Trolley, Bus and Access vehicle to train with their animals.

We are sharing a community flyer from ASL Social
--- Flyer content: For the past 5 years, Deaf Professor Yoon Lee has been teaching Deaf Culture and ASL to students from many cities. Some students even drive 2 hours to attend. ASL Social is more than just practice — it is a place where students build confidence, connect with the Deaf community, develop real communication skills, and create lifelong friendships. You cannot truly learn ASL without meeting and interacting with the Deaf community. The goal is to provide a welcoming and safe environment that inspires students to value Deaf culture and encourage future interpreters to serve the community with respect and understanding.
