Second Chance Dog Rescue, San Diego, California 4284 Cass Street San Diego CA 92109 Second Chance Dog Rescue is one of San Diego’s largest non-profit 501c3 organizations dedicated to saving homeless dogs.

We rescue, rehabilitate and re-home dogs, primarily from local shelters, as well as dogs surrendered by their owners for various reasons, and dogs from Baja California, Mexico. Once we receive a dog, we provide medical care, including spay and neuter, and any necessary rehabilitation.

Onix is a 5-year-old, 26 lb Cairn Terrier mix with the perfect balance of mellow companion and happy adventure buddy. Around the house, he’s calm, quiet, and easygoing — always content relaxing nearby and enjoying peaceful time with his people. But the second the leash comes out, this sweet boy lights up with excitement and is ready for walks, fresh air, and exploring by your side. 🌿🐕

Onix is gentle, affectionate, and loves meeting new people. He’s done well with dogs he meets on walks and absolutely lives for belly rubs! When he’s feeling playful, his adorable little hops, wagging tail, and charming personality are impossible not to love. 🥹✨

Dublin is incredibly affectionate and bonds quickly with his people. He happily greets anyone willing to offer him kindness and attention. He has a calm, easygoing personality and enjoys peaceful walks, cozy naps, and simply relaxing with his foster family.

Born on 2/28/26, this adorable little Chihuahua girl is full of personality, puppy energy, and charm! Ladybug is a spunky, athletic pup with an independent streak and a curious spirit. She loves to run, play, explore, and soak up every new adventure life has to offer. 💕

Like any growing puppy, Ladybug LOVES to chew and stay busy, but she responds very well to redirection and is eager to learn. She’s already catching on to potty training quickly and is excited to continue learning with her future family.

Ladybug absolutely lights up when meeting new people and gets so excited to see familiar faces. She’s also a great little travel buddy and does wonderfully in the car!

After all her adventures, this sweet girl is all about cozy naps and cuddle time. Her favorite place? Curled up in a fluffy blanket next to her humans.

Bow has been waiting patiently for someone to give him the chance he deserves. 💔 This sweet 1-year-old, 14 lb Schnauzer/Cairn Terrier mix has so much love to give, but he needs the right person to help him feel safe, understood, and finally home.

Bow is playful, smart, crate trained, sleeps through the night, and loves running around the yard with his toys. Once he trusts you, his goofy and loving personality shines through. But the world can feel scary for Bow sometimes, especially around new people, and he needs a calm, patient home willing to continue building his confidence.

We know his perfect match is out there. Bow would do best in an adult-only female home with no other pets, where he can truly relax and be the center of someone’s world. He doesn’t need perfection — he just needs a chance.

At 1½ years old and 85 pounds, Roscoe is a sweet Great Dane mix with a big heart and playful spirit. He can be a little shy at first, but once he warms up, he’s a loyal best friend for life. 🐶

This goofy young guy would love a canine buddy to run and play with! He’s still learning his manners and will thrive with continued training, structure, and lots of love.
