Community safety update: As many of you are aware, yesterday, Oct. 27, the Islamic Center of San Diego went into lockdown at the direction of the San Diego Police Department (SDPD) following a potential security concern. All congregants are safe and normal activities have resumed.

We recognize yesterday's lockdown caused immense concern in our community, which has understandably been operating on high alert. Following the incident, we would like to share several resources that may be of use to you and your loved ones at this time.

All individuals are reported to be safe, and the situation is currently under control. Leadership at the Islamic Center of San Diego has informed us that the premises have been cleared and it is safe to resume normal activities, including Maghrib prayer.

We urge community members to remain calm, follow instructions from law enforcement and ICSD leadership, and await further updates from official sources.
