Tomorrow, we announce the full lineup and schedule for the 27th San Diego Asian Film Festival.

Before we introduce you to this year’s films, we wanted to introduce you to the visual world of SDAFF 2026.

This year’s festival identity captures the fertile, ever-mutating, very-human energy of our creative ecosystems. We invited SDAFF alum Danski Tang (Umbilical, SDAFF ’19) to create this year’s festival artwork.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Originally from China and now based in Los Angeles, Danski Tang is an animation filmmaker and visual artist whose hand-drawn work explores memory, the subconscious, cultural indoctrination, and body autonomy.

Her films have screened at festivals around the world, including Annecy, Hot Docs, Melbourne, and MoMA Doc Fortnight. Her film Umbilical, which screened at SDAFF in 2019, won the Silver Leopard at the Locarno Film Festival.

We’re thrilled to welcome Danski back to SDAFF, this time as the artist behind the look and feel of our 27th edition.
