Breaking Down Barriers Breaking Down Barriers is a program dedicated to normalizing mental health and wellness

Through in person or online educational presentations and events, we discuss stigma of mental health and connect people to helpful resources. We also provide cultural competency for providers working for our communities.

We are heartbroken for everyone affected by the shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego - ICSD, just miles from the JFS Joan & Irwin Jacobs Campus. They are our neighbors, and we hope they find healing, strength, and peace in the days ahead.

We have been in touch with the community through our programs and partners and stand ready to support those who may need assistance. Times like this remind us of the hate and violence facing our communities and our collective responsibility to move forward with compassion and understanding.

We are truly stronger together.

We are heartbroken by the incident at the Islamic Center of San Diego. JFS’s Breaking Down Barriers program stands with all those impacted and remains committed to care, healing, safety, and community support.

Here is a list of mental wellness resources and support. We are also coordinating directly with community organizers to address basic needs, provide assistance, and strengthen ongoing partnerships as needs arise.
