✨🩵💫 Leading with a Heart for August is Membership -&- New Club Development Month on the Rotary International calendar and Rotary Club of San Antonio, TX is grateful for our remarkable VP of Membership, Brisa Gonzales! Brisa inspires us everyday with her kind spirit, thoughtful insights and heart for others.

In addition to serving as a valued member of our Young Members Board, she is a dedicated mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. In every sense of the word, Brisa believes in helping Children reach their Dreams; thanks to her introducing our Club to one of her personal favorite nonprofits, Sleep in Heavenly Peace - San Antonio, our Rotary Rising Leaders and Club have helped build over 500 bunk beds to date.

“I joined Rotary because I truly enjoy being surrounded by like-minded people who also have a heart for service,” Brisa says. “Being a Rotarian has provided me the opportunity to build many meaningful friendships and a great variety of ways to serve. There are countless opportunities to make a difference; every service project impacts a different part of our Community.”

Thank you Brisa for reminding us that being a Rotarian is about finding your people to share the joy of service and discovering new ways to , together!

Service Above Self in Action ⛑️ As wildfire recovery efforts continue across the country, we’re reminded that service doesn’t end when the headlines do.

Heartfelt thanks to our fellow Rotarian LoriAnn Tinajero, American Red Cross National Deployments Elected Official Liaison & External Relations, for her steadfast leadership and commitment to service above self.

Whether she’s coordinating disaster response volunteers, handing out water, lifting spirits or raising funds, LoriAnn leads with compassion -&- purpose.

Today LoriAnn reached out to remind our Rotary there are so many ways we can help whenever natural disasters strike: Volunteer -&- Donate Blood!

Blood donations are critically needed across South Central Texas and the Nation; and every unit of blood donated save 3 lives.

Thank you LoriAnn for your dedication and inspiring us all to answer the call to help!

Not her first rodeo. The Rotary Club of San Antonio is thrilled to start our 2026-2027 New Rotary Year with our new Executive Director Muriel Dubinski!

Muriel brings extensive experience in nonprofit development, grant funding, sponsorship cultivation, and organizational growth strategies for long-term financial sustainability. She recently worked on the development of grant funding initiatives for the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo to support the Junior Livestock Auction Committee. We tip our hats and welcome Muriel to our Rotary Family. Yeehaw!

Today, on International Day of Hope, Rotary Club of San Antonio is celebrating where hope takes root with our Seeds of Hope Summer Peace Academy in the beautiful Corrymeela community of Northern Ireland.

In 2022 Rotarians Jack McGuire and JC Clapsaddle planted seeds with Rotary partners .community to invest in the next generation of peace leaders through teaching principals of reconciliation, communication and relationship building by which we reaffirm our shared commitment to world peace.

Hope is more than optimism; it’s choosing to build bridges, foster understanding, and create lasting impact.

Fly Me to the Moon. Rotarians played among the stars for a special evening of classic favorites at Jazz Texas. We enjoyed Some Enchanted Evening with great food, musical entertainment, and most importantly, friendship on tap!

Never Can Say Goodbye. After more than two decades behind the wheel, Executive Director Anne Swift is taking the jump seat and joining the club at the member tables. We’re delighted to have Anne continued support as a vital member of our club but will miss her leadership as the one who keeps the lights on. Congrats on 22 years of Rotary Service Above Self!

“I am for a future where we build belonging. I am for a future where everyone has a voice. I am for a future with love so heavy that anger can’t rise.”These messages from the collaborative Nurturing Hope program formed part of a lengthier mantra students from UT San Antonio, Trinity University, and Northwest Vista College prepared for the conclusion of their academic year participating in a peace and reconciliation program started by Rotary Club of San Antonio. Members Jack McGuire and JC Clapsaddle helped bring together the academic community to embark on this special journey to put hope at the forefront of their lives.

♣️Texas Hold ‘Em. Our Rotary Rising Leaders cohort and Young Members Board stacked the deck this year, so a fun celebration was in the cards. Incoming YMB President Austin Lane was crowned champion in a winner-take-all tournament that brought together a Full House of 34 players for an exciting game night. Kudos to and his board for a winning year…maybe this explains how we became Club #52 out of 42,000 internationally!

Rotary Reads. We celebrated literacy and learning at MLK-Gates Academy where we met the SAISD Foundation Book Buddies Bus that provides books for local kids. Former Mayor Ron Nirenberg stopped by to read to 3rd graders, and Rotarians hit the books reading throughout the school. Our club donated more than 250 books to the but more are needed. Check out their Amazon wish list if you’d like to send summer reading to a child who may not otherwise have access to having their own books.

Special thanks goes to .gzlz for organizing the special day and to for taking the lead on our club’s involvement at MLK-Gates Academy. We’re grateful for our Rotary Rock Stars!
