Every Sunday at 10:30 a.m., gather beneath an ancient live oak tree for a weekly story time with one of the Alamo’s engaging living historians. This free experience will take place at the Will Naylor Smith Outdoor Classroom outside the Texas Cavaliers Education Center.

Artifact of the month!

Battle of Gonzales Centennial Plate

This Texas Centennial Plate commemorates the Battle of Gonzales, also referred to as the "Lexington of Texas," that took place on October 2, 1835. It has the iconic cannon and flag in the center of the plate. This plate was made in England for the Thomas Shelton Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Patriotic organizations had centennial plates made to commemorate the Texas Revolution.

Tejanos at the Alamo was filled with music, dance, and engaging stories of important Tejano figures of early San Antonio and the Texas Revolution. The Alamo’s guests even had the opportunity to meet with local descendant groups who have passed their family histories through the generations.

Alamo Archaeology Church Preservation update!

Archaeologists completed excavations in EUs 29 and 41. Excavations continued in EU-42 and began in EU-43.

Because of the weather, archaeologists were able to complete a significant amount of lab work. This entailed washing the large amounts of glass from EU-29 and several artifact bags from past units. Read more here: https://bit.ly/4y3x0dS
