🐾 Waggin' Wednesday: Meet Alice & Nala! They are 3 year old, Chocolate Lab Mixes.

Alice and Nala are two very sweet sisters. While these girls would certainly love to find a home together, however they do not have to be adopted as a pair and can happily begin their next chapters in separate loving furever homes. Both girls are housebroken, affectionate, and ready to find their family.

🐶 Alice is great with children and does well with other dogs. If there is already a dog in the home, a Meet and Greet is required to make sure everyone gets along. Alice is not a fan of cats and is looking for a cat-free home. Like many Labs, she loves food and may occasionally try a little counter surfing, so her future family should be prepared to continue reinforcing good manners. Alice is a sweet, loving companion who enjoys attention, adventures, and plenty of belly rubs.

🐶 Nala is a loyal and loving girl who does well with older children and loves spending time with her people. When it comes to other animals, however, Nala is more selective. The only dog she gets along with is her sister, Alice. If adopted without Alice, Nala would do best as the only pet in the home, as she does not get along with other dogs or cats.

Whether they find a home together or separately, both Alice and Nala deserve families who will love them unconditionally and give them the happy ending they've been waiting for. If you're looking for a devoted, loving companion, one (or both!) of these beautiful girls may be the perfect addition to your family.

On Thursday, June 25th from 5 PM–9 PM, we’ll be guest bartending at Brew River Dock Bar, and a portion of the evening’s proceeds will be donated to Train It Forward Inc.

Every drink, meal, and tip helps us continue supporting the dogs in our care and our local community through training assistance, scholarships, foster support, and more.

Pound Cake is a Certified Wiggle Loaf! If you’ve ever wondered what would happen if a cinnamon roll, a weighted blanket, and a beautiful spirit were combined into one creature… that’s Pound Cake.

She is a professional happy wiggler, part‑time couch ornament, and full‑time bringer of joy.

Her hobbies include:

• Slow blinking at you until you pet her.
• Napping with the commitment of an Olympic athlete.
• Being everyone’s favorite without even trying.

She came to us as a stray, which is wild because this woman has main character energy. She has clearly had many puppies in her past life, and she is very ready to retire from her career as a baby‑making factory and move into her new role as CEO of Snuggles & Snacks.

Fun Facts:

• Lazy? Absolutely. She considers stairs “optional.”
• Easy? Like Sunday morning.
• Friendly? She would greet a brick wall with a tail wag.

Today is Leslie’s last day with us, and while we are excited for her next chapter, we are incredibly sad to see her go!

Leslie’s journey with us began as a volunteer receptionist, and it didn’t take long for her dedication, helpful spirit, and upbeat personality to shine. She quickly became someone we could depend on, whether she was greeting visitors with a smile, answering calls, assisting with stray animal intakes, helping community members, or jumping in wherever she was needed.

More than anything, we will miss the laughter and energy she brought to the shelter every day.

Thank you, Leslie, for everything you have done for the animals, our organization, and our community. We are so grateful for the time we had with you and wish you nothing but success and happiness in your next adventure.
