Why do we trot? For our neighbors. 🧡

Every Turkey Trot registration supports the YMCA of the Chesapeake Annual Campaign Fund, which
helps make sure no one on the Shore is turned away from the Y because they can't afford
it. Last year, together with our community, the Y provided more than $1.75 million in
assistance to over 16,000 neighbors.
"Every step is helping a family in our community," says Robbie Gill, CEO of the YMCA of
the Chesapeake.
Your 5K helps power swim lessons, youth sports, child care, and health programs for older
adults, cancer survivors and people living with Parkinson's. That's a lot of good packed into
3.1 miles.

Going the Extra Mile for Our Parkinson’s Athletes!

A huge THANK YOU to our incredible Rock Steady Boxing coaches, Faron Burns, Jillian Luna, Jen Tate, and Wendy Palmer, for dedicating their weekend to training that will help us better serve our Parkinson’s athletes! Your commitment to learning, growing, and finding new ways to support our athletes is truly inspiring.

We also want to extend a very special thank you to Leah Dedrick from Aging Stronger in Chester, Md. for not only hosting this training but also including our YMCA coaches in the experience. We are so grateful for your generosity, collaboration, and willingness to host and include our team!

Our coaches are passionate about making a difference in the lives of people living with Parkinson’s, and investing in their continued education is one more way we ensure our athletes receive the very best support possible.

This training will help us take our program to the next level as we continue to build strength, improve balance, foster confidence, and create meaningful connections in our Parkinson’s community.

Power has been restored! The Henson Family YMCA is opening at 1:15pm on Sunday, 10/18.

Stay & Play is available until 3:30pm. The Williams Pool is open for free swim. The Morris Pool will remain closed for the day.
