Our amazing friend from Bloomington, Spencer Allen, has created and donated this beautiful handmade quilt for auction, with all proceeds supporting the Indiana's Community Action Coalition and the Crossroads Commons property project in downtown Salem.
Spencer carries forward a remarkable Hoosier quilting legacy. His uncle created thousands of quilts throughout his lifetime, with pieces featured in museums and collections across the country, including the Smithsonian. That tradition of craftsmanship, storytelling, preservation, and community continues through this one-of-a-kind piece.
Made from carefully gathered recycled and repurposed materials, this quilt reflects the beauty of giving old things new life:
