"It Is Well with My Soul" written by Horatio Spafford in 1873 with music composed by Philip Bliss.
Before writing the hymn, Spafford was a prominent lawyer in Chicago who lost most of his fortune in the Great Chicago Fire of 1871.
In 1873, he planned a European trip for his family.
Detained by business, he sent his wife, Anna, and their four daughters ahead on the ship SS Ville du Havre. The ship collided with an iron sailing vessel and sank in 12 minutes.
Anna survived, but all four daughters drowned.
Spafford wrote this masterpiece while crossing the Atlantic Ocean to meet his grieving wife, near the exact location where his children died.

EVIL IS EVIL
We too often see when people drift away from God's truth.
Sin rarely becomes accepted all at once.
First it is ignored, then tolerated, then defended, and eventually celebrated.
The danger is not only committing evil, but reaching the point where evil is called good and good is called evil.

“Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter.”
~ Isaiah 5:20

God's Word does not change with culture, popularity, or public opinion. What God calls sin remains sin, and what God calls righteousness remains righteous. The believer is called to stand firmly on the truth of Scripture even when the world rejects it.

Jesus said:
“Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
~John 8:32

As the last days approach, Christians must not compromise with evil but contend for the faith, speak the truth in love, and live holy lives before God. The world's approval is temporary, but GOD'S JUDGMENT IS ETERNAL.

CHALLENGE: EXAMINE YOUR HEART.
Are there things God calls wrong that you have begun to excuse or overlook? Repent, return to GOD'S WORD, and stand for truth.

I pray that God will help us to discern between good and evil according to HIS WORD. I pray He will give us courage to stand for truth, wisdom to walk in righteousness, and grace to remain faithful in a world that often rejects Him.

DO NOT BE DECIEVED

Ephesians 6:12 ~ For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

2 Corinthians 4:4 ~ whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

John 17:15 ~ I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one.
