Washington County Family YMCA

Washington County Family YMCA The Y is a nonprofit like no other. The Y is community centered. For nearly 160 years, we’ve been listening and responding to our communities.

Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. That’s because in 10,000 neighborhoods across the nation, we have the presence and partnerships to not just promise, but deliver, positive change. The Y brings people together. We connect people of all ages and backgrounds to bridge

the gaps in community needs. The Y nurtures potential. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. The Y has local presence and global reach. We mobilize local communities to effect lasting, meaningful change.

A healthy mind is a strong mind 💡

Growth doesn't stop at any age. Trying something new, learning a new skill, or exploring a new interest can help build confidence, reduce stress, and support overall mental wellness.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, challenge yourself to keep growing -- whether it's through creativity, learning, problem-solving, or discovering a new passion at the Y. Every opportunity to learn is an opportunity to strengthen your mind.

Mental health thrives through connection 💙

A stronger community starts with something simple -- saying hello, starting a conversation, or inviting someone to join you at the Y. Small moments of connection can make a big difference, and you never know who might need it.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, let's support one another by building a community where everyone feels seen, welcomed, and connected.

We are honored to share that Justin Green and the City of Salem have officially proclaimed May 11–17, 2026 as YMCA 175th Anniversary Week in recognition of the incredible impact the YMCA has made in communities across the nation and right here in Washington County for the past 25 years.

Thank you to Mayor Justin Green and the City of Salem for recognizing the Washington County Family YMCA and the work happening every day to strengthen youth, families, and our community through healthy living, youth development, and social responsibility.

For 25 years, our YMCA has been a place where kids discover confidence, families find connection, and our community comes together to support one another. As we celebrate 175 years of the YMCA movement nationwide, we are reminded that there truly is no place like this place.

We are grateful to every member, volunteer, donor, staff member, and community partner who has helped shape the story of the Washington County Family YMCA. The best is still ahead. ❤️💙

This weekend at the Y, we’re celebrating the moms, grandmas, caregivers, and mother figures who help our families bloom. 🌼💛

Each mother visiting the YMCA will receive a packet of flower seeds as a small reminder of the love, encouragement, and care you plant every single day.

Thank you for helping us grow. 🌱
