So many reasons to Visit Salado❣️👏🏻

Did you know Salado has 43 historical markers? ❤️ And each one tells a piece of the story that made Salado what it is today.

But do you know how Salado’s story began?

Sterling C. Robertson played an important role in the early settlement of this part of Texas. From Nashville, Tennessee, Robertson brought families to settle in the Brazos River Valley between 1827 and 1836—helping lay the foundation for communities that would eventually include our charming little town.

Come experience a piece of that history with Salado Museum and College Park as they celebrate Founder's Day!

Learn more about Robertson and Salado’s beginnings, discover how Scottish heritage became part of our story, and experience the history that still lives throughout our town today.

Come for the history. Stay for the charm. And become part of Salado’s story. ❤️

📣 Chris Milam and White Rocks Entertainment LLC want to build a 10,000-seat amphitheater, luxury hotel, and 650 condos on Dittmar Hill — surrounded on three sides by the 4,000-acre Barton Creek Habitat Preserve, home to the endangered Golden-cheeked Warbler. 🐦

This isn't Milam's first try — Austin already rejected his "Violet Crown Amphitheater" plan in 2022. Now, partnering with UMusic Hotels (backed by Universal Music Group, the world leader in music entertainment), he's back under a new name with the same footprint, seeking city water service and a TCEQ wastewater permit to irrigate treated sewage onsite.

Concert noise and light pollution next to critical warbler habitat? Not on our watch. 🐦‍⬛💚

TCEQ Commissioners approved a contest case hearing request last month. Save Texas Streams, SOS Alliance, The Nature Conservancy, and local landowners are fighting back.

Stay tuned for ways YOU🫵 can help stop this project.
