Step back in time and visit the cabins! They’re open the first Saturday of every month from September through May, welcoming visitors from 9 AM to noon. Stop by, explore, and enjoy a little local history.
Helpful tip: if the weather is nice and you see the flags flying, that means we’re definitely open—come on in!

Enjoy a community potluck lunch featuring fried chicken and drinks provided by the Historical Society. We invite guests to bring a favorite side dish or dessert to share!

Be entertained by the beautiful voices of the Salado Community Chorus and enjoy a special presentation on patriot Thomas Paine.

As part of America’s 250th anniversary celebration, we’ll commemorate the signing of the United States Declaration of Independence by re-signing it together this 4th of July!

The Salado Historical Society and the Salado Cultural Arts District are proud to team up on a special commemorative coin fundraiser celebrating our shared commitment to preserving and enriching the Salado community.

The first 100 commemorative coins are being produced. Each coin is 2.5 inches in diameter and available for $30.

To reserve your coin, email Glen Bowen at [email protected] with your name and contact phone number. We will notify you as soon as the coins arrive. Payment will be collected upon delivery—no advance payment is required.

Thank you for supporting two important Salado nonprofits that work year-round to preserve our history, promote the arts, and give back to our community.

We will gather to recognize the past soldiers who served our nation and to honor the veterans laid to rest in our community. All are welcome to join for this annual time of remembrance.

As our season draws to a close, we invite you to visit the cabins tomorrow between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM. This is the final Saturday of our September–May schedule, making it your last opportunity to tour these historic structures until autumn.

Come wander through history and enjoy a quiet morning at the heart of our heritage. We look forward to sharing these stories with you one last time before summer!
