The Salado Historical Society and the Salado Cultural Arts District are proud to team up on a special commemorative coin fundraiser celebrating our shared commitment to preserving and enriching the Salado community.

The first 100 commemorative coins are being produced. Each coin is 2.5 inches in diameter and available for $30.

To reserve your coin, email Glen Bowen at [email protected] with your name and contact phone number. We will notify you as soon as the coins arrive. Payment will be collected upon delivery—no advance payment is required.

Thank you for supporting two important Salado nonprofits that work year-round to preserve our history, promote the arts, and give back to our community.

Reserve yours today before all 100 coins are spoken for!

📅 When: Tomorrow, Memorial Day at 9:00 AM
📍 Where: Pace Park (Pavilion)

We will gather to recognize the past soldiers who served our nation and to honor the veterans laid to rest in our community. All are welcome to join for this annual time of remembrance.

Enjoy a community potluck lunch featuring fried chicken and drinks provided by the Historical Society. We invite guests to bring a favorite side dish or dessert to share!

Be entertained by the beautiful voices of the Salado Community Chorus and enjoy a special presentation on patriot Thomas Paine.

As part of America’s 250th anniversary celebration, we’ll commemorate the signing of the United States Declaration of Independence by re-signing it together this 4th of July!

As our season draws to a close, we invite you to visit the cabins tomorrow between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM. This is the final Saturday of our September–May schedule, making it your last opportunity to tour these historic structures until autumn.

Come wander through history and enjoy a quiet morning at the heart of our heritage. We look forward to sharing these stories with you one last time before summer!

Don’t forget—free family fun tomorrow morning at the cabins. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., come join us for Frontier Day.

Bring the kids out for a hands-on experience where they can practice their penmanship and try some old-fashioned chores. The cabins and the church will be open to explore, so it’s a great chance to step back in time together.

Rain or shine, we’ll be there—the cabins have a good roof.

Best of all, it’s completely free. It’s also the perfect opportunity to take a look inside the 1908 Church if you’re considering reserving it for a future event or conference.
