U.S. Air Force Veteran Joseph David Martin will be laid to rest on Wednesday, December 3rd, at 11:00 a.m.

Please help us spread the word, and if you have the opportunity, please come out and attend.

We will always ensure that no Veteran is buried alone.

The Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Killeen recently had the carillon bell tower repainted, but with a twist – the bells are now a beautiful golden color called “ceremonial gold."

Meet Tataniessa Jackson, today’s from your Austin VA Outpatient Clinic.

Tataniessa has been caring for Veterans with deep commitment and heartfelt purpose for nearly two decades. A proud Veteran herself, her journey of service didn’t end when she took off the uniform, it simply evolved.

Today, as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in Primary Care D, she continues her mission of service by providing compassionate, hands-on care to those who’ve walked the same path she has.

Tataniessa plays an essential role in the Veteran care experience. From preparing for their primary care visits to ensuring every concern is heard and every need is met, her presence brings both comfort and confidence. Her calm demeanor, clinical expertise, and deep respect for those she serves help create a space where Veterans feel truly seen, not just as patients, but as people.

“As a Veteran myself, taking care of Veterans is like taking care of family. It’s not just a job to me. It’s personal.”

Annie Riggins served in the for nearly three decades, including a deployment to Vietnam. Born and raised in South Carolina, she has called Central Texas home since 1986.

Annie’s message to the world is simple yet powerful: “Love one another. Be kind to one another. Be there for one another, and you just might find they will also be there for you.”

Reflecting on her care with the Central Texas Veterans Health Care System, she shares, “I love coming to the because everyone has been very helpful and respectful.” Annie’s service, wisdom, and gratitude continue to inspire those around her.
