❌ MYTH: If a WVABLE account owner passes away, Medicaid automatically takes the money in the account.
✅ FACT: WV Medicaid will not file a claim against a WVABLE (STABLE) account for medical expenses paid on behalf of the beneficiary, except as required by federal law.

To ensure this protection applies, make sure your records show you are enrolled in WVABLE and have an active STABLE Account.
