👉The Catholic Diocese of Saginaw "Acts 989" Student Service Retreat was June 16-19 and they spent one of their mornings with us at City Rescue Mission❣

These highschoolers were able to make awesome use of their time and organize in Impact Designs, clean the area/grounds, w**d around the shelter and help at a community project area with Higher Purpose !
😊💙 Together they collected 27 bags of yard waste in just over 2 hours 👏.

The words they used to describe their time here were "teamwork," "efficient," "satisfying," and "dusty!"‼ We are so thankful for our volunteers and grateful that these Catholic youths have a heart for service! 🙏💟

"🏠Welcome home Shasta❗ See the joy in these photos and this wonderful, warm home God has provided for our former guest💜.

Shasta first walked in our doors in January of this year. She was left with nowhere else to turn after plans to share a home with a friend fell through. We, of course, were ready to take her in and help her get back on her feet. Shasta described her first arrival as "overwhelming" and didn't know where to start, but once she settled in and found herself comfortable around the guests and staff, Shasta began to make friends and made quick progress through our Impact Program👏😊.

Shasta even had a positive effect on our staff here. "Shasta is very sweet and also has a sense of humor. I called her 'Shasta Pasta' as my term of endearment." Says Mona, her Guest Advocate. "Her growth and independence have been amazing to see. I am really proud of her and sooooo happy for her!" 🙌💟

It was very heartwarming to see her trust and love for the Lord🙏. From her time here, to our interview with her, to the first moment walking into her new home, Shasta was full of joy and peace. We are so grateful to have been able to help Shasta in her time of need🩷💛💙."

🏆 Several members of our staff recently attended the Citygate Network National Conference in Grand Rapids. We were inspired, refreshed, and learned a lot! There was a little free time between sessions and Impact Designs Manager, Keagan Butterfield, entered a co****le tournament and represented Rescue Ministries so well! The brackets went on for several days... Keagan triumphed consistently and won the championships and a new iPad! Way to go, KB!

Volunteers will soon converge on a Saginaw neighborhood and give it a major dose of repair work, painting homes, planting trees and flowers.

Recently, Impact Saginaw partnered with Rescue Ministries of Mid-Michigan to celebrate children with June birthdays, and what a wonderful day it was!

The celebration was filled with birthday treats, prizes, crafts, games, dancing, and jump rope fun - creating plenty of smiles and special memories along the way! Most importantly, it was an opportunity to make each child feel recognized, celebrated, and loved on their special day.
