916 Ink 916 Ink is dedicated to promoting literacy, youth development, and health by empowering youth.

916 Ink seeks to excite young people with language, particularly written language; to instill in children a sense of joy, wisdom, whimsy, and wonder with words; to celebrate syntax; and to support teachers, schools, and libraries in their efforts to share the benefits of reading and writing with all area youth.

Give AF . . . yeah, that AF. California Service Corps pays you to serve your community while building real skills and gaining ground.

One 916 Ink staff member, Christina Nelson, Read On! program manager, gave AF in 2014 when she served as an AmeriCorps member with Reading Partners.

“Service year changed the trajectory of my career and my life.”

Rather than going into the traditional classroom, Christina decided to join the non-profit world and focus on one-on-one tutoring and reading literacy! As a result, since 2020, Read On! has become a staple at 916 Ink as we offer operations at local schools to ensure that students can reach their reading level and beyond!
