Jersey Shore Youth Rugby The program is open to all children in Monmouth County, NJ. Rugby is fast, tough, and exciting—perfect for kids who love a challenge.

Jersey Shore Youth Rugby is a non-profit youth sports and recreation organization that runs a Tackle U12 and U14 Program and a co-ed Non-tackle flag rugby program for grades K-8th grade. Jersey Shore Youth Rugby (JSYR) is all about getting kids into the game, building skills, and having fun while competing. We started with a small group of players and have grown into a strong community where young

athletes learn the game, push themselves, and play hard. We are a non-profit youth sports and recreation organization that runs a Tackle U12 and U14 Program and a co-ed Non-tackle flag rugby program for grades Kindergarten through 8th grade. Our coaches focus on teamwork, strategy, and fitness, helping players improve while keeping the game fun. Whether you're new to rugby or looking to level up, there’s a place for you here. It is with great sadness that the Jersey Shore Youth Rugby family shares the passing of our friend, coach, and Board Member, Mark Biafore, who passed away last Sunday.

Mark had a true love for the game of rugby and, even more importantly, for sharing that love with young players. His dedication to coaching, his commitment to our club, and the time and energy he gave to Jersey Shore Youth Rugby made a lasting impact on so many players and families.

Above all, Mark was a devoted father to his son, Ben, and his pride and love for him were evident to everyone who knew them.

Mark will be deeply missed by his fellow coaches, Board members, players, parents, and the entire Jersey Shore Youth Rugby community. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Ben and the entire Biafore family during this incredibly difficult time.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Mark’s life and share their memories during visitation on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank, New Jersey.

Please keep Mark’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers. May his memory live on through the countless lives he touched, both on and off the rugby pitch.

Rest in peace, Coach Mark. You will always be part of the Jersey Shore Rugby family. 🏉
