Mission Meow Registered 501c3. Mission Meow offers the opportunity for businesses and individual donors to come together and raise money as a group to make a larger impact.

Mission Meow works with businesses to increase the level of charitable donations for small feline-centric nonprofits to help create meaningful change for cats in need. Because there is power in numbers. Instead of donating $500 to help rescue/spay & neuter cats, you can say your business is a part of the Mission Meow coalition donating $10,000+ to help felines in need. In other words Mission Meow makes dreams come true!

🧡 Happy Orange Cat Appreciation Day! 🧡

Today we celebrate the gingers — a truly special category of cat. 😹

They are bold. They are loving. They are ridiculous. They are endlessly entertaining. And they approach life with the kind of confidence normally reserved for someone who actually knows what they’re doing.

Orange cats don’t make mistakes.
They make choices.

They sprint through the house at 3 A.M.
They investigate things that absolutely do not require investigating.
They will risk everything for a snack.
And somewhere, somehow, the legendary orange-cat brain cell is doing its very best to keep up. 😂

But beneath all that glorious chaos? Some of the biggest personalities and sweetest hearts in the feline world. 🧡

So today we salute every ginger cat who keeps their humans laughing, guessing, and occasionally asking:

October Grant Cycle will open September 1–10, 2026.

⭐️A Small Change to Our Grant Process⭐️

During our last grant cycle, we received approximately 170 applications. We were thrilled to see so many organizations dreaming big, but we also recognized that accepting that many applications when we can ultimately fund only a small number of grants isn’t the best process for our applicants or our review team.

Beginning with this grant cycle, we will accept a maximum of 75 applications.

Why the change?

Because every organization that takes the time to apply deserves our time in return.

Limiting the number of applications allows our Grant Committee to thoughtfully and thoroughly review each proposal while creating a more manageable and equitable process for everyone involved.

Applications will open September 1 and will close September 10 OR when we reach 75 applications, whichever comes first.

So, if you have a dream project in mind, we encourage you to apply early!

Is a Mission Meow Grant Right for Your Organization?

Before applying, please remember that Mission Meow grants are available to feline-centric nonprofit organizations with an annual operating budget under $250,000.

We love funding projects that create meaningful, lasting impact.

Some examples of projects and items we fund include TNR equipment and supplies, renovations, cubbies and cages, foster programs and supplies, enrichment projects, websites, recovery sheds, medical equipment and supplies, incubators, and other creative projects that help organizations expand or improve the work they do.

Mission Meow grants do not fund food, litter, veterinary bills or spay/neuter surgeries.

And remember — don’t be afraid to dream.

Some of our favorite grants began with an organization telling us about something they desperately needed but simply couldn’t afford to make happen on their own.

That’s exactly why Mission Meow exists.😻

Sweet Peas and Ozzy came into Meow Mission Coalition’s care as part of a family of five kittens and their mother who were extremely ill. What initially appeared to be a severe upper respiratory infection was soon diagnosed as calicivirus, a highly contagious virus that can be devastating to young kittens.

Sweet Peas was the sickest of the litter. Her eyes were severely affected, and there was concern that she could lose both of them. Her brother Ozzy also suffered significant eye damage and was at risk of losing an eye or being left with permanent scarring.

Their care became intensive. They received antibiotics twice daily, eye serum every four hours, and, because they were too sick to eat adequately on their own, syringe feedings every four hours. Their mother and three siblings eventually recovered enough to move on to a rescue partner, but Sweet Peas and Ozzy still needed extensive care and remained with MMC.

Slowly, they began to recover. Ozzy was left with some scarring in one eye but retained his vision. Sweet Peas survived, but the damage to her eyes was much more significant. She could initially see only light and shadows.

Then another setback came when both kittens developed ringworm, requiring additional weeks of treatment, medicated baths, environmental cleaning, and continued monitoring.

Just when it seemed they had overcome the worst of their medical challenges, Ozzy became ill again. Veterinary testing revealed that he had developed wet Feline Infectious Peritonitis, commonly known as FIP. Once considered almost universally fatal, FIP can now be successfully treated when appropriate medication is available and treatment begins quickly.

We immediately located medication and began Ozzy’s treatment. This was especially important because Sweet Peas and Ozzy had become deeply bonded. Sweet Peas relied heavily on her brother as she learned to navigate the world with extremely limited vision.

Ozzy completed his treatment and beat FIP.
