Today is for everyone who has ever shown up for a young person.

Father's Day looks different in every family. But the people who provide, protect, and invest in the next generation — whatever their role — share something in common.

They know stability starts at home. And they'll do whatever it takes to provide it.

Happy Father's Day from our Habitat family to yours.

"If people can be taught to hate, they can be taught to love." — Dr. Opal Lee

Dr. Opal Lee calls herself the Grandmother of Juneteenth. We call her an inspiration.

Dr. Opal Lee spent decades fighting to make Juneteenth a national holiday. Starting at age 89, she walked 2.5 miles every year to symbolize the 2.5 years it took for enslaved people in Texas to learn they were free. In 2021, at 94, she presided over the ceremony where Juneteenth was signed into federal law.

Dr. Lee is also a reminder that building a more equitable world takes showing up — year after year, mile after mile. Let’s remember to show up for one another.

A starter home is more than a first step. It's the foundation you build everything else on.

Stability for your family. Roots in your community. And something to pass forward to the next generation.

Habitat is opening the door to starter homes for families in our community by providing affordable mortgages.

Your home shouldn’t be a burden on your family’s future. It should be the foundation for your future.
