The Strata Foundation’s 2026 Golf Outing was tremendous success, bringing together supporters for a memorable day at St. George’s Golf & Country Club. Participants enjoyed a scenic round of golf followed by an evening cocktail reception, with perfect weather and the welcome presence of volunteers from America's VetDogs and the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind throughout the course.

The reception highlighted the impact of the event’s mission. Attendees heard a moving testimonial from a veteran who shared how a service dog transformed his life, offering renewed purpose. Honorees Donna and Gus Lugten also spoke, sharing the heartfelt story behind their 2025 dog naming and encouraging others to take part in this meaningful sponsorship.

All proceeds from the outing will support America’s VetDogs’ new puppy raising center in Smithtown, NY, helping to provide life-changing service dogs to veterans and first responders.

Founder Joe Campolo reflected on the significance of this year’s cause, stating, “As our nation celebrates its 250 anniversary, we are focused on honoring our veterans, the men and women who have dedicated themselves to protecting our safety and freedom. Their service allows us to enjoy our liberty and spend time with the people we love, and we are proud to support organizations that make a meaningful difference in their lives.”

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember the men and women who gave everything in service to this nation. Freedom is never free, and their sacrifice is something we carry with us every day.

At the Strata Foundation, we work alongside veteran and first responder families who live this truth. We see their resilience, their love, and the quiet courage it takes to keep going.

To those who did not come home, and to the families who hold their memory: you are never far from our hearts. We are grateful. We are humbled. We will always remember.

Last week, we gathered for a powerful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together with a shared purpose. Through the Strata Foundation, we are proud to support the incredible mission of America's VetDogs, an organization transforming the lives of veterans every single day.

America’s VetDogs is currently building a new 30,000-square-foot puppy development & visitor center in Smithtown, which will allow them to train and place even more life-changing assistance dogs with veterans, individuals with disabilities, and families in need. The impact these dogs make goes far beyond companionship — they provide independence, confidence, comfort, and hope.

At the Strata Foundation, every dollar we raise this year will go directly toward supporting this mission. We are honored to stand behind organizations making such a meaningful difference in the lives of so many.

Thank you to John Miller at America's VetDogs and everyone who continues to support this important work. If you would like to get involved, donate, or learn more about the Strata Foundation’s efforts, please reach out to Executive Director Julie Alberti at [email protected].

Last night, Strata Foundation Executive Director Julie Alberti was delighted to attend Dogs on the Catwalk. She described the evening as truly magical, with the room filled with love and appreciation for the life-changing impact of these remarkable dogs. Julie had the honor of sharing a special moment with last year’s inspiring honoree, Tom Ryan, and his incredible dog, Monty. Standing alongside John Miller, CEO of America's VetDogs, she reflected on the powerful partnership between his mission and what we strive for at the Strata Foundation.

The Strata Foundation’s mission is to bring the Long Island business community together to support local veterans during life’s most challenging moments.

Recently, a member of our community referred a Navy veteran to us for help. Her utilities were about to be shut off during the cold winter months, and she feared her children would be left without heat. She had already reached out to other organizations and had been denied assistance at least twice. With nowhere else to turn, she reached out to our partners at Family Service League - Long Island and we connected.

Within days, we mobilized our network. In less than a week, her application for Suffolk County Veterans Emergency Home Heating Program assistance was approved, and the county paid her heating bill in full.

Our partners across the community answered the call. We worked the network, and together we delivered results.

Veterans served this country. They deserve a system that works for them when they return home. On Long Island, we are building that system—one family at a time. This week, we proved it works.

Strata is thriving and loving every moment of his snowy adventures. Look how much he has grown! He’s fully embracing the winter wonderland around him. Even more exciting is the progress he’s making in his training — his focus, confidence, and gentle nature grow stronger every day. Watching him learn, explore, and just be himself makes us so proud.

We’re thrilled to introduce Georgie, the newest addition to the Strata Foundation family! She’s currently training with her volunteer puppy raiser in Connecticut, where she’s learning foundational skills.

Georgie has a lot to explore. Once she turns 16 weeks old, she’ll begin experiencing the world and advancing her training even further. We can’t wait to share updates on her growth, development, and future impact. Stay tuned!
