5 Easy Ways to Give:

Giving doesn't have to be complicated. Pick the one that works for you.

1. Give online or by check. New this year: even if you don't itemize, you can deduct up to $1,000 in cash gifts ($2,000 if you're married filing jointly).

2. Give from your donor-advised fund. If you have a fund at Fidelity, Schwab, Vanguard or elsewhere, just log in and recommend a grant to the Strata Foundation. Our EIN is 84-3745294.

3. Give stock that has gone up. Donate shares you've owned for more than a year instead of cash. You skip the capital gains tax, and if you itemize, you can deduct the full value.

4. Give from your IRA if you're 70½ or older. Send a gift straight from your IRA to us. It's called a Qualified Charitable Distribution. It isn't counted as income, and it can count toward your required minimum distribution.

5. Ask your employer to match. Many companies match what their employees give. A quick note to HR can double your gift.

The Strata Foundation recently had the honor of visiting the Long Island State Veterans Home, located on the beautiful Stony Brook University campus.

Our founder and CEO, Joe Campolo, a veteran himself, was deeply impressed by the facility and the exceptional care it provides. We were given a wonderful tour by Executive Director Fred Sganga, whose pride in the home was evident at every turn, and rightfully so. The breadth of services offered to veterans and their families is truly remarkable.

After the tour, we joined the veterans for a lively music event filled with singing and plenty of special requests.

Thank you to the staff and residents of the Long Island State Veterans Home for your warm welcome, and thank you to our veterans for your service.

Strata Foundation is thrilled to share the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind and America's VetDogs' exciting news. Today, they celebrated the groundbreaking of their new Puppy Development & Visitor Center at their National Headquarters in Smithtown, New York.

This state-of-the-art facility will strengthen every assistance dog's journey from day one and expand the organizations' capacity to serve veterans on Long Island and beyond.

Strata Foundation Founder Joe Campolo spoke at the ceremony in his role as Board Treasurer, emphasizing the importance of keeping this facility in Smithtown. As he proudly stated, "On Long Island, great things are getting done!"

A special highlight of the day: Executive Director Julie Alberti had the honor of speaking with Gretchen Evans, veteran and winner of the Pat Tillman Award for Service. Other special guests in attendance were Mr. Met, Sparky the Islanders mascot and many incredible service dogs.

Executive Director Julie Alberti and Director of Marketing Renna Guadalupe recently toured the America's VetDogs facility in Smithtown with our guests, Stephanie and John Marchisotta.

The tour began with an overview of the organization’s long history and mission, followed by a behind-the-scenes look at the training facility and kennels. We were also lucky enough to meet Sully, President George W. Bush’s retired service dog.

It was a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the incredible work America’s VetDogs does to support veterans and their families.
