We were proud to be joined, in our Daniel D. DiClemente Hall, by Lieutenant Governor candidate Adrienne Adams!

Together, we’re making our voices heard and standing with candidates who support working people. Last week in Buffalo NY Labor Leaders from the ALF including Council 66 President Rich Canazzi and Local 1095 Officer Demetris Graham (20 year Certified Nurses Assistant at ECMCC) met with AOC to discuss upcoming concerns with the Hospitals in New York and the impact of the One Big Beautiful Bill will have on our citizens as well as the potential closing of further hospitals as a direct result of this horrendous bill.
During these discussions between the Labor Leaders and the Congresswoman plans were put on the table to mitigate the damages to our citizens as well as the potential loss in jobs from further hospital closing.Last week in Buffalo, New York, labor leaders from the Buffalo ALF met with Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to discuss emerging concerns facing hospitals across New York State, including the potential impact of the One Big Beautiful Bill on our communities and the healthcare system.
A significant portion of the discussion focused on the potential for additional hospital closures and the resulting consequences for patients, healthcare access, and thousands of healthcare workers and other employees whose jobs could be placed at risk.
During the meeting, labor leaders and Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez discussed potential strategies and plans to help mitigate the impact on our citizens, protect access to essential healthcare services, and address the potential loss of good-paying jobs should additional hospitals face financial challenges or closure.
These conversations are an important step toward bringing labor, elected officials, healthcare stakeholders, and community leaders together to advocate for the resources and protections our communities need.

You work the game, you earn the pay. Workers deserve to be paid on time and treated with respect! Pay our Security Officers what they are owed! BENTE Local 2419

Our Security Officers who have been working games since the beginning of the year found out today that they still won’t be paid for games in this upcoming paycheck. The District’s response: we were too busy to pay them. IF YOU ARE AN SSO WE ENCOURAGE YOU NOT TO WORK ANOTHER GAME UNTIL YOU GET PAID WHAT IS OWED TO YOU.
