After May Day in recent years has spawned so many conversations about general strikes, we thought it would be appropriate to truly reflect on this historic moment for our city.

Exciting news!

Last night, the state legislature passed significant Tier 6 reforms, including lowering contribution rates and increasing overtime caps. AFSCME Council 66 members, leaders, and staff helped secure these monumental reforms by making sure our voices were heard every step of the way.

While this is a major victory for working people, we will continue the fight to fully Fix Tier 6 and protect the retirement security our public employees deserve! AFSCME Rich Canazzi AFSCME Local 1095 Robert L. Leonard

Tier 6 reform passed in the Senate and Assembly! A huge thank you to Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, Speaker Carl Heastie, and all of the legislators who voted for it. Congrats to all of the union members who fought to !

Matt Padbury. President of local 1883 & Town Of Vestal NY Board Member, made history as our first Council 66 member elected to public office. Matt believes it is a critical time for union members to step forward & run for office.
