Giving Tuesday is here, and it reminds us why Anna’s Wish began. Anna was only five when cancer took her from us, yet her spirit was full of love and a desire to help other children who were facing the same scary world she knew too well.

Anna’s Wish continues that mission by providing gifts and support to kids and families in treatment, small moments of comfort that mean everything on the hardest days.

For those who might be interested, Anna's Wish was selected by a group of RIT students as their charity of choice for a CHAIRity fundraiser. The students designed a chair and are now auctioning it off and the money will go to AW! The Anna's Wish Chair is #30. We are honored and humbled to have been chosen! We regret to inform you that, as of 2023, we will no longer be holding the Anna’s Wish 5K. We want to thank everyone for their participation over the past 10 wonderful years! We also want to thank the hard working volunteers and generous sponsors. Because of all of you, this successful event has raised well over $35,000 for this amazing charity.

Make sure to be on the lookout for other ways to help Anna’s Wish fulfill their mission to provide gifts and services for children dealing with pediatric cancer. Please share with us any ideas you have for future fundraising events or opportunities.

Again, thanks so much for all your support. The last 10 years would not have been possible without your kindness and generosity.

As you may have heard, Amazon has decided to end it's "Smile" program, which donated money to charities such as Anna's Wish. I was very appreciative of not only Amazon, but all of the people that chose us as their charity of choice. Amazon claimed that their 'smile' program did have as large an impact as they had hoped.

This was disheartening. I think sometimes HUGE corporations forget about the struggles for small businesses and small charities. Over the course of the program, Amazon donated almost $1700 to Anna's Wish. This was NOT a small amount of money, by any means. That $1700 allowed us to help many, many children.

While I am truly grateful for what we did receive, I'm very sad to hear that Amazon doesn't think that matters. It mattered to me and it mattered to those kids battling cancer.

Thank you to all of you that participated in this program. It did matter... and you matter!

I wish there was no need for Anna's Wish, but as long as there are children with cancer, we will continue to be there for families. Thank you to all that have volunteered and donated. 27 families will be having a beautiful holiday thanks to your generosity. What a wonderful two days of wrapping and traveling across WNY talking to our amazing families!

Today is and if you are considering a charity that you would like to donate to, please consider Anna's Wish. Every dollar donated goes directly to families with children fighting cancer. All administrative costs are covered by the McKinney Family, 100% of every donation goes right to the families we help!
