Monroe County Family Coalition Monroe County Family Coalition (MCFC) is a nonprofit organization formed by a group of residents to Follow MCFC on Facebook .

Founded in 2020 in Greece, New York, MCFC is a 503(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to bridging the inequality gaps in the community and creating opportunities for underserved youth and families. MCFC partners with local government, schools, businesses and nonprofits to provide career and life skills training and consultations; mental health support; and access to local resources. A post is circulating on Facebook with a picture of a flyer listing several community providers as resources for back rent, including us at MCFC. Unfortunately, we do not provide rental assistance so many folks are getting frustrated when they call us and the other providers listed.

Our September newsletter is out and our Grantee Spotlight shines on our partners at Rochester Spinal Association as they celebrate 35 years of community impact! We're also highlighting the work of Mentors Inspiring Boys & Girls following a recent visit from Governor Hochul.

In Health Foundation new -- Board Vice Chair Dr. Linda Clark addresses New York's physician Shortage and our Responsive Grantmaking team prepares to share what we've learned with fellow funders in our co-investment collaboration with Rochester Area Community Foundation.

Plus -- in our Learning & Engagement section: an opportunity for non-profit leaders to reflect and build practical skills for navigating pressure with Coordinated Care Services, Inc. - CCSI; a conference on family wellness with the Monroe County Family Coalition; and, an Autism and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Conference with Strong Center for Developmental Disabilities.

MCFC Community Clothing Closet is OPEN!

Monroe County Family Coalition, Inc. is excited to officially open our FREE Community Clothing Closet to individuals and families in our community.

Our goal is simple: to provide clothing with dignity, compassion, and care. There is never a charge to access the clothing closet.

What’s available?
Tops, bottoms, dresses, sweaters, coats, shoes, baby onesies, socks, and other items based on current donations and availability.

When: Saturdays
Time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
By appointment only

To help us serve as many families as possible, individuals may generally access the closet once every three months. Exceptions may be made for emergencies and special circumstances.

Please note: The Clothing Closet will be closed on Saturday, October 10, 2026, as MCFC will be hosting our 3rd Annual Youth & Family Wellness Conference that day.

We are beyond excited to share that the Monroe County Family Coalition’s 3rd Annual Youth & Family Wellness Conference is on the horizon!

This year’s theme, “Power to Rise: Preparing Youth and Families for the Changing World,” speaks directly to the moment we are living in. Across our nation, families and communities are facing real challenges, but the question remains: How do we move beyond simply surviving and truly begin thriving?

In addition to amazing workshops and activities for youth and adults, we are honored to host a powerful, moderated virtual Q&A with Professor Ibram X. Kendi, a leading voice on equity, history, and community transformation.

What makes this conference truly special is our community. From dedicated committee members to those who once attended and now help lead, this movement reflects our commitment to being the community, not above it. Together, we are breaking silos and building something meaningful, unified, and impactful.

We are proud to host our first fundraiser of the year, our Community Fish Dinner Fundraiser, in support of our upcoming 3rd Annual Youth & Family Wellness Conference.

This fundraiser represents more than just a meal; it’s an opportunity to invest in our community. Proceeds will support:

You're invited to the 2nd Annual Youth & Family Wellness Conference, hosted by the Monroe County Family Coalition.

Event Dates and Times:
Friday, July 11 | 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM (Registration begins at 5:00 PM)
Saturday, July 12 | 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Breakfast and registration begin at 9:00 AM)
Location: Asbury First United Methodist Church, 1050 East Ave, Rochester, NY
Free admission, meals, backpacks, and wellness kits (while supplies last).

Last year, we welcomed nearly 500 attendees over the course of our two-day conference, and we’re looking forward to an even bigger and better turnout this year!

Join us for two days of connection, learning, and celebration focused on youth and family wellness. All are welcome.
