The stand is full of fantastic books and some great perennial garden herbs!

Lemon balm!

This perennial plant is a member of the mint family so it likes to spread. Best planted in containers or areas with well established, hearty plants. It loves full sun but can also thrive with partial shade.

Leaves can be used to make tea, or to season fish, chicken and other dishes with a bit of lemon flavor. Several traditional medicinal uses as well, but we aren't doctors so we can't give specific advice.

Oregano!

It seems like a well known plant but Marge Simpson had never heard of it.

This spreading perennial is an excellent addition to many food recipes, both fresh and dried.

Also a member of the mint family, these dudes will spread like crazy and will be an aromatic and delicious addition to any garden

Also, thank you to the fantastic folks who dropped off some extra containers! We are always in need of quality pots and soils (any type) to keep churning out plants. We've got about 50 spider plant babies getting ready for the stand, as well as a handful of assorted succulents and some cat nip and regular mint getting ready.

If you like the work we do, please like/follow/share so the algorithm can spread this to even more of our community. Together we can all make a difference 🙂

First plants of the year, Lillies of the valley!

These are an early spring perennial (outdoor) plant that will spread like the Dickens! They have a gorgeous green leaf and white bell shaped flowers. BUT they are also toxic to humans and animals so don't eat them!

They like partial shade and will grow back every year spreading as a typical rhyzome plant, so pay attention to where you plant them.

Each bucket has 4-7 plants in it. Separate them and plant 4-6 inches apart in a well worked soil and watch them grow!

Also grab a good read for when you're done planting and want to relax.

And don't worry if they are all gone, we will be putting out several more buckets worth as we adjust some of our gardens.

We get it. Books aren't for everyone. But we ask that if you aren't a fan of books, you don't show it by throwing your recyclables that you've refilled with water at the library and our gardens and poor Osso, he's already nothing but bones.

If you know the person that's doing this on an almost daily basis and can ask them to stop, and maybe try a book, it could open their mind.

In other news, we are still being a little cautious of frost so we don't want to put anything on the stand just yet. We do have a handful of fun indoor plants that will be ready as well as some outdoor ornamentals and likely some herbs we can split soon!

And as always we have a ton of great books from kids to horror to cheesy romance novels all ready to be enjoyed and shared.

Take a look and grab a book!

Spring has sprung! We're in the process of starting lots of seeds, and waiting for the weather to be warm enough to put out some aloe babies needing homes. We'll be starting another batch of spider plant babies too! While you wait, stop by for a book!

Our resident skeleton, Osso, wants to remind all us fleshies to leave the leaves and dead growth until it's an average of 50 degrees fahrenheit. Help our local pollinators!

You're never ALOEne with good books and plants!

Aloe plants! A whole bunch of these that can't wait to be brought inside and put in a nice pot. They love sunshine and light watering. Once they are big enough you can pinch off leaves and use the aloe!

Also some Zebra plants (haworthia)! These cool little succulents are originally from South Africa. They will grow and grow and eventually shoot up a very long and pretty bell like flower stem. Every year or so you'll have to split it up or it will get a bit crowded.

Also even more milkweed pods! Take one, rip it open and spread it around wherever you want milkweed to grow!

Plants are back!

We've got some very large aloe plants that are ready for a nice clay pot and a bright window. These plants need minimal water and will just grow and grow and grow.

Also some spider plants babies. Probably one of the easiest to care for hanging plants. They love sun and water, but they can go a whole of forgetting before they will start to die..

And lastly a bunch of milkweed pods! Milkweed is a necessary plant for monarch butterflies, as well as lots of other butterflies and polinators. You can take these pods, pop them open and spread the seeds in a loose soil area and cover with 1/4 inch of soil.

And of course tons and tons of great books!
