Felix Pantry restores hope to families and individuals in need by providing food, compassionate support, and referral services in the Felician Franciscan tradition. We serve over 1,000 per week with dignity and compassion. The relationship-based model St. Felix Pantry employs is our best practice as we know many of our guests by name, know their situation(s), and carry a trust that is unparalleled
in the community (we call everyone a guest of St. Felix Pantry - not a "client"). Balanced, nutritious food is crucial as over 40% of families we serve had one or more children in their household and over 30% of households identified as Female Head of Household (single-Mother homes). We are committed to being a sustainable food pantry by rescuing and procuring our high-quality food from local farms, grocery stores, donors, and through purchasing food via Grant funding. Please understand, our volunteers diligently sort, examine, and discard ANY food that even hints at not being consumable (i.e. - a can is bulging, strawberries are mottled with mold, or a deli item has a color that does not belong). Felix Pantry has a partnership with a local pig farmer. We give food that is not fit for human consumption to the pig farmer, which reduces landfill waste.
