Piper came into the shelter in January 2026, and while so many dogs have come and gone, this sweet girl is still waiting for someone to choose her. Day after day, she watches people walk by her kennel, hoping that today will be the day her forever family finds her.

At around 47 pounds, Piper is a loving, affectionate girl with so much life and love left to share. She deserves more than a kennel, she deserves a couch to curl up on, a yard to play in, and a family to call her own.

Piper does need a home with a secure yard, as she can jump surprisingly high and will need a safe place to stretch her legs and enjoy life outside the shelter.

After months of waiting, Piper’s heart is still full of hope. She hasn’t given up on finding the family she’s been dreaming of. Let’s not make her wait any longer.

In search of a hospice foster for Sadie ..

Meet Sadie — an 11-year-old Boxer/Mastiff mix whose world changed overnight when her beloved elderly owner passed away. After losing the only home she knew, Sadie ended up at the county animal shelter before moving into a temporary foster home.

We would love to welcome Sadie into the Argos Love At Last Hospice Program, but first we need a hospice foster for her.

Sadie’s current foster mom describes her as a really good dog — smart, friendly, gentle, and very trainable. She currently lives peacefully with two other large dogs and two cats, doing well with all of them.

Like many senior dogs, Sadie has some vision and hearing deficits along with minor arthritis in her back legs. But that doesn’t stop her from enjoying these cool New Mexico mornings or lounging comfortably in the house as the day warms up. She has excellent house manners and simply wants a peaceful, loving place to feel safe.

What Sadie needs most is stability and kindness. A loving hospice foster home would give this loyal girl the comfort she deserves.
