🎹 We’re hiring! Join the Music Orchard Richmond team!
We’re seeking a passionate and experienced Piano Teaching Artist to join us for the 2026–2027 school year, with an immediate start!

At Music Orchard Richmond, we believe every child deserves access to quality music education. We’re looking for someone who shares that belief and is excited to help K–12 students develop their musical skills, build confidence, and discover the joy of making music.

Position Details:
📍 Richmond, VA
💰 $80/hour | 1099 Independent Contractor
📅 Immediate start, with potential summer teaching opportunities

The ideal candidate has strong piano proficiency, experience in music instruction, and a commitment to inclusive, culturally informed teaching.

We’re joining Lights Up! at Pine Camp Cultural Arts Center on November 7 for a morning of creativity, music, and hands-on fun!

Music Orchard Richmond will be leading Bang, Boom, Beat!, an interactive bucket drumming workshop where kids ages 7–11 can explore rhythm, learn new beats, and make music together. No experience needed, just a willingness to make some noise!

📍 Pine Camp Cultural Arts Center
📅 Saturday, November 7
⏰ 10 AM – 12:30 PM

Workshops are FREE and open to everyone! Pre-registration is encouraged but not required.

We can’t wait to see what our young drummers create! 🎶

Music Orchard Richmond was selected to receive a $2,000 Tour grant from The Mockingbird Foundation, an organization founded and run by Phish fans dedicated to supporting music education across the country.

The grant comes following Phish’s recent performances in Richmond and is part of the foundation’s tradition of giving back to the communities that welcome the band.

We’re honored to be included in this initiative and grateful to The Mockingbird Foundation for helping keep music education within reach for more young people in our community 🎻💚

A look back at this year’s SRO Central Audition Prep Workshop! 🎻

Students spent the afternoon with VCU String Faculty working through scales, excerpts, sight-reading, stage fright strategies, and mock auditions, all designed to help them prepare for SRO Central auditions.

Music Orchard was proud to support the workshop by providing scholarships for eligible students and helping spread the word about the opportunity 💛
