Good luck this weekend to the youth hunters of Kentucky!

As youth and mentors across the state prepare to head afield tomorrow for the opening weekend of the youth-only fi****ms deer season (Oct. 10-18), we want to send you out with a friendly reminder:

Any harvested deer must be telechecked using the youth hunter’s information, even if they are license exempt! The easiest way to do this properly is through the online Telecheck system or the KY Deer & Elk App, which help reduce errors and save time.

Telecheck errors are some of the most common mistakes during youth season… Don’t let that be you! Make sure you have a plan before getting out!

Let’s make it a fun, safe, and memorable season for the future of deer hunting in Kentucky.

It’s a BIG week for youth hunters in Kentucky: youth-only fi****ms season starts THIS Saturday! (Oct. 10-18)

Here’s what families need to know:
•Youth hunters 12–15 must have a hunting license and deer permit; hunters under 12 do not need one.
•Adults accompanying youth must wear hunter orange but cannot hunt using a fi***rm (except during statewide muzzleloader season).
•Telecheck all harvested deer using the youth’s Social Security number and info. (Tip: Using online Telecheck or the KY Deer & Elk App helps reduce mistakes!)

‼️ Youth hunters can harvest antlered or antlerless deer statewide, following all bag limits and regulations.
