We couldn't let Pit Bull Awareness Month start without spotlighting Beans!!!!! Beans previous "owner" took him to the Petersburg shelter to surrender him. When they told him they were full & couldn't take him till they moved a dog the person decided that dumping Beans at an abandoned house with a bag of food was the best choice. Beans ended up at the overcrowded shelter & he went downhill FAST. He did not handle the shelter environment well at all. That's when we took him into rescue. His life is SO much brighter now! Here's what his foster mom has to say about the amazing Beans.....
If you’re looking for a shadow and a best friend built into one, Beans is your guy!
Around 1 year old, Beans is a happy, playful pup with a big personality and plenty of charm. He’s great with dogs, kids, and people — Beans has truly never met a stranger. He loves being part of the action and would happily follow his people wherever they go.
Beans is young and energetic, so he loves to play, explore, and stay busy. He’s also incredibly smart and has been excelling with basic obedience. He learns quickly and is very treat-motivated, but like any young pup, he’ll need someone willing to continue giving him structure and guidance so he can keep becoming the very best version of himself.
He is crate trained, potty-trained, affectionate, social, and eager to please. Whether he’s playing with his dog friends or hanging out with his people, Beans is just happy to be included.
He can be a bit chatty (loves to do an AWOO) & has a bit of a naughty streak & will counter surf if given the opportunity! Again he needs someone willing to give him structure.
