Headwaters Christian Youth

Headwaters Christian Youth Teaching teens the Word and helping them to live it out. Today, many conclude that life has no meaning. Still others respond to a message of hope. Who cares?

Our young people today are caught in a cross-fire of ideas, one strong voice says war is wrong, another demands that they be patriotic.Teenage friends tell them to try drugs, parents and teachers plead with them not to try. Certain voices insist, any sex is moral if it does not hurt the people involved, other voices strongly support morality based on the Holy Scriptures. Our young people are force

d to make decisions at an age when they are most susceptible to suggestion good and bad. Others drift without purpose, never thinking it all through. Who reaches out to young people with hope and a reason for living? HEADWATERS CHRISTIAN YOUTH is an organization devoted to communicating with high school and junior high school young people. It is an organization equipped with a program for youth, enabling them to develop in all four dimensions of life, physical, mental, social, and spiritual. Involved teenagers in the program find it useful in finding themselves, resulting in a life of purpose instead of a continual search which may result in dropping out of high school, turning to alcohol, becoming involved in drugs, etc. HEADWATERS CHRISTIAN YOUTH is a mission effort in respect to unchurched teens in an area in which no mission effort is being put forth. Our programs will help those teens who never enter a church to find a life in Christ which holds real exercise and share their own faith with their unsaved friends. The problems and difficulties of teenagers today often leave parents, teachers, and other concerned individuals in a state of bewilderment. It is true that the process of growing up into a mature Christian and conscientious citizen is harder today than ever before. But the staff of HEADWATERS CHRISTIAN YOUTH is dedicated to helping teens through this difficult time and leading them on to a life which will honor and glorify God. All good things are not cheap. However, if concerned people of this area will band together in this effort, we can provide a worthwhile youth program for all the teens of the Headwaters area.

Summer is a very busy time, I took far too long to get this post out but Ive got it now! Our HCY mission trip to Indianapolis was an amazing time. Our first year in a big city, our largest group by far, and lots of memories were made. I appreciate Sam Lau, Jaiden Pillai and Michele Antonuk for giving there time and coming along on the trip. We couldn't do these trips without adults like you. You all were amazing.
Also thank you Michele and Sam. I'm terrible at remembering to take photos, you did amazing at capturing the week.

We returned yesterday from our mission trip to Indianapolis! We had 17 people, 13 students and 4 adults (Michele Antonuk is missing from the picture). As all the pictures come in, I'll be making more posts about the amazing experiences we had together as a group.
Two years ago, HCY took a mission trip to Merrill, WI with 4 students and 2 adults.
Last year, we took 8 students and 3 adults to Duluth, MN.
This year, we took 13 students and 4 adults to Indianapolis.
Mission trips have grown every year at HCY. I don't believe that's because they're fun, although we certainly have fun. They're not vacations.
I believe they've grown because teens are challenged. They're pushed to serve, pushed to dig into God's Word, pushed to examine themselves, and pushed to see people and needs that would be easy to turn a blind eye to.
This group of 17 served well, pursued God well, stepped outside of their everyday comfort, and represented Christ well. There are so many stories, memories, and experiences to share.
If one of these students is your child, be immensely proud of them. They did an amazing job this week. Ask them about their experiences. Ask them what God taught them, where He stretched them, what challenged them, and how He changed them.
I'm incredibly grateful for everyone who supports HCY through prayer, volunteering, or financial giving. You make opportunities like this possible.
My prayer is that this trip doesn't end when the cars got home butthat what God started in the hearts of these students continues to grow and bear fruit long after this week.

Look for more stories and pictures over the next week.

Thank you to everyone who attended our auction, volunteered, donated, bid, or supported us from afar. It was an incredible evening, and we are deeply grateful for your generosity and encouragement.

Because of your support, we are even better equipped to continue reaching teens with the Gospel and helping them grow in their faith. We are excited to see what God will do in the coming year through this ministry.

Thank you again for partnering with us in this mission. Praise the Lord for a wonderful night and for all He has in store ahead. Let's make this an amazing year of reaching teens with the Gospel!

Reminder tonight is the night! Doors open at 5:45! We appreciate all of the support! Thank you everyone!
