In honor of Memorial Day, I present to you a recent discovery. A photo of Sgt. Charles
Marquette. Winner of The Medal of Honor
For being one of the first to plant the colors of the 93rd on the brestworks at Petersburg Va.
On April 2 1865, he was also wounded and
Captured a confederate flag. This photo was taken on or just after June 27, 1865 the day
The Regiment mustered out. Special thank you to Scott Goodman for posting this picture last weekend, and to Heather Steele the owner of the photo for being interested in the 93rd and its soldiers.
