Next Step Berks Committed to creating supportive housing to foster an inclusive neighborhood in Berks County

Next Step Berks intends to purchase land in Berks County for the purpose of developing single- story, smart-homes for adults with autism/IDD and seniors. These homes will surround a community center where activities designed to facilitate social engagement and healthy living will take place daily. The design of this development allows for individuals to receive the supports they need while being included in their surrounding community.

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the Autism Society of Berks County and Unending Promise for hosting last Sunday's Bingo fundraiser in our honor. The exposure and funds will help us keep the momentum going. Thank you to all of the volunteers who invested countless hours planning the event as well as the many families who helped by baking, donating, and helping to promote it.

It's time for a good spring cleaning! Just in time to help Next Step Berks. Clean out those closets! Bag up those gently used clothes, towels, curtains, decrative pillows, curtains, stuffed animals or any soft items. Donate them this week (3/28-4/4) to CommunityAid in Temple. Drop off is very easy. Just follow the signs. It is very important that you tell them you are donating on behalf of Next Step Berks! Our partner number is 50148.
Need help getting your bags there. Drop a note in the comments and we will do our best to arrange a pickup.
